Lady Warriors basketball team wins home opener over Del Oro,

Mountain Basketball recorded another impressive performance in the young season with a dominating 69-15 victory over Bakersfield-Del Oro in their home opener.

Averee Napier was the leading scorer against the Sun with 23 points, making 11 of 14 shots overall.

Other strong performances came from Annie Loken (eight points, four rebounds), Kenadee Gary (eight points), Jamie Neaderbaomer (seven points, five assists), Gabby Bonffil (six points), Carly Hayes (seven rebounds, four points), Jaelyn Dock (four rebounds) and Kennedy Perkins (four points).

Later in the week, Tehachapi (7-2) lost in a close 46-42 game to Ridgecrest-Burroughs and defeated Rosamond, 49-18.

Against Burroughs, Riley Walden was the leading scorer with 16 points (six rebounds), with other contributions came from Perkins (eight points, 10 rebounds), Neaderbaomer (seven points) and Loken (five points, nine rebounds), Koree Rodden (eight rebounds, four assists) and Camille Foster (five rebounds).

Standouts against Rosamond included Walden (16 points, seven rebounds, four steals), Rodden (eight points, five rebounds, four steals), Neaderbaomer (six rebounds, five points, four assists), Loken (six rebounds, four points), Hayes (six rebounds) and Bonffil (six rebounds).

The Lady Warriors will look to continue their season this week with a home game scheduled against Garces on Tuesday and an away game against Independence on Thursday.

JUNIOR VARSITY DEFEATS ROSAMOND, NOTCHES WIN IN FOOTHILL TOURNEY

The JV Lady Warriors had a great showing last Thursday on the road in a 33-13 victory over

Rosamond.

Emma Hinton (seven points), Kylee Christy (eight rebounds, six points), Addison Smith (nine rebounds, six points), Lola Napier (four points), Tatiana Vlachos (five rebounds), Calley Bowswer (five rebounds) and Olivia Roed (four points) were the standouts over the Roadrunners.

Tehachapi (5-3) also had a narrow defeat to Burroughs (48-40). In the game against the Burros, individual highlights included Smith (18 points, eight rebounds), Roed (six points, four rebounds), Napier (four points), Christy (five rebounds, four points) and Bowser (four rebounds).

In mid-November, the Lady Warriors also participated in the Foothill Tourney in Bakersfield, winning games against Shafter (33-23), Liberty (20-9) and Stockdale (13-10), falling only to Golden Valley (23-9).
