HALE W. GROVER

1922-2023

Hale W. Grover passed away on Nov. 24, 2023 at the age of 100 years old.

Born Dec. 7, 1922 in Woodstock, Ill., to parents Ray and Nell Grover, he later attended the University of

Wisconsin. After serving in the U.S. Air Force during WWII in the Aleutian Islands, he married his late wife, Marian, in 1946 and the couple later moved to Culver City, Calif., where they raised their three sons. Hale began work in the auto industry where he enjoyed a long and notable career. In Culver City, Hale was a devoted member of the Optimists Club.

Upon retiring in 1988, the Grovers moved to Tehachapi. The couple enjoyed retirement in Tehachapi and were avid golfers. In fact, Hale played golf often until a couple of years ago.

Hale was preceded in death by his late wife, Marian, and is survived by his three sons, Kent, Jeff and Scott; grandchildren, Brian, Kelly and Marcus as well as great-grandchildren, Haley and Ariana. Hale was recently quoted as saying that “watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow was the best part of living for more than a century.”

A visitation period was held at Wood Family Funeral Service at 321 W. F St., Tehachapi, CA 93561 on Tuesday, Dec. 5 from 1 to 3 p.m.
