On December 29, 2022 at 10:40 a.m. the light of the world dimmed at the passing of Davia D. Guidera.

Services will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on February 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Following the church services, graveside respects will be at Hillcrest Memorial park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road.

Davia was born on January 15, 1941 in Bakersfield, California to Leo and Fleda David.

She spent her childhood on the family farm working alongside her family: Father Leo, Mother Fleda, and sister Joyce. She loved telling stories about her beloved childhood.

Her passion was singing. She had many leading roles in her high school musicals. She thought of a musical career, but family came first. Upon graduation from Bakersfield High School, she joined the workforce. She excelled at her job working in the medical field as a medical assistant.

In 1964 she married the love of her life, Frank Guidera. They were like two puzzle pieces that fit together that began to create a beautiful family picture. Part of this picture were three sons, Tim, Henry and Stephen. The last piece arrived in 1965, a daughter named Nancy. The family picture would continue to grow in years to come.

Davia and Frank worked side by side to create Edison Transport, Inc. and Frank H. Guidera Company in 1970. Davia wore many hats: Wife, mom, daughter, sister, counselor, nurse, cook, friend, and the list goes on. Family was always her first priority. She loved us all with her whole heart. We were so lucky to be loved by her.

Davia and Frank loved to travel with family and on their own. In 1970 traveling began with a RV trip to Canada with their family and the Peters family. The love of travel continued with trips to Hawaii, Western and Eastern Europe, and many places in the United States. They loved sharing their experiences with all of us.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, parents, Leo and Fleda David, and grandson, Chris Anthony Guidera.

She is survived by her children, Tim and Rachelle Guidera, Henry and Ruth Guidera, Stephen and Stephenie Guidera and Nancy (Guidera) and Mike Church; her grandchildren Chase and Joy Guidera, Frank and Erin Guidera, Natasha Guidera, Brianna (Guidera) and Kyle, Elisabeth Church and Christopher Church; her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Gabriel and Elyssa, Zoe, Denise, Juliana, Samantha, Anthony, Trent, Kylee, Kaytee, Patrick, and Gracie, and many great great grandchildren; sister Joyce and husband Bill Rickman, nephew Eric, godsons Justin and Nathan Summers; cousins Paula and Mike Giancanelli and their children: Michael, Stephanie and husband Carlo, and Dino and his wife Lisa who held a special place in her heart.

Special thanks and appreciation to her human circle of angels, Dr. William F. Baker, Jr. for his care and friendship. Dr. Pradip Rustagi, MD who guided her through her Polycythemia Vera and cancer treatment. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Memorial hospital, especially nurse Blaine in the emergency room and nurse Kuldeep on the fifth floor, for caring for Davia with such respect and love. A special thanks to Glenda Soto who kept her house in order and ran errands for Davia.

Davia, you have left a great hole in our hearts, but we gain solace in knowing you are reunited with Frank, the love of your life, for eternity. Until we see you again in heaven.
