The Torres Family along with his daughters Amber and Kristen Torres, are heartbroken to announce the passing of their son and father, Jerome Len Torres. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, father, Grandfather, and fiancé. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic school, Garces and Highland High School before graduating in 1978. Valuing the importance of hard work, he worked diligently his entire life and eventually settled into working in the Pest Control industry where he spent more than twenty years. He had many long-time customers and built a large clientele with Tactical Pest Control based on his diligence and cool demeanor.

Jerome also spent his free time as a DJ and was an important member of the local music scene.

Music was a passion of his life, and he was a pioneer in the DJ community in Bakersfield for over forty years. At the age of eighteen he started his career as a resident DJ known as Sounds of Soul at Rachel's Night Club. In the 1980's he continued his career at Roller Town and could often be found spinning his turntables at Vidal's. During that same time, he was also a headline DJ at his uncle Leonard Villanueva's night club Leonard's. He could also be found every year at

the Kern County Fair playing his music and bartending alongside his parents, siblings, and cousins at the Budweiser Pavilion. He eventually became known as DJ Jerome & Holiday Productions, and finally, DJ Jerome. He was beloved by many people and was a part of countless weddings, parties, and important life events for the residents of Bakersfield. Being a DJ brought him so much joy, he was always honored to help people celebrate some of the most important

moments of their lives. Jerome also had many hobbies including playing basketball, tennis, water skiing, motorcycles, and going bowling. He was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren and loved his family tremendously.

Jerome is survived by his parents, Manuel and Linda Torres, daughters Amber and Kristen Torres, and his Fiancée Tammy Soutchay. Siblings Keith Torres, Grace Torres, and Valerie and Larry Lomely. Grandchildren Caden Robideaux and Charlotte Torres. Nieces and Nephews Raymond Garcia, Klint Torres, Karissa and Michael Porter, and Korrina and Alan Nicewonger. He had numerous cousins, friends, and clients who always commented on his kind

heart, wonderful laugh, and great smile. He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Ty Torres along with his nieces Kandice and Katrina Pierson and both sets of grandparents.

Please join the Torres family for Jerome's service on August 18, 2022 at 9am at the Central Seventh Day Adventist Church at 4201 Wilson Rd followed by the burial at Hillcrest Memorial, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd at 12pm.
