Girl found in pool ID’d

The Kern County coroner’s office on Monday identified a child found unresponsive in a swimming pool Saturday.

Brooklyn Marie Brown, 2, of Bakersfield was found in the pool in the 500 block of Corazon Court and died at 5:37 p.m. in the Kern Medical emergency room, according to the coroner’s office. An autopsy will be done.

The Kern County coroner’s office has identified a Panorama City man who died June 19 after drowning in the Kern River.

Roberto Andres Gamez Suazo, 36, was seen swimming in the Kern River shortly before 12:30 p.m. and did not resurface. He was recovered and taken to Kern Medical, where he died at 1:39 p.m., according to the coroner’s office. His death was an accident.

A 71-year-old Bakersfield man who was stabbed in a leg on June 13 has been identified as Richard Daniel Alvarez Jr. by the Kern County coroner’s office.

It happened at 5:02 a.m. and he died at 5:23 a.m. in the 400 Block S. Real Road.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

A Bakersfield man was shot and killed Saturday night in the 300 block of Roberts Lane in Oildale.

Odulio Rodriguez, 36, died at 5:16 p.m. at the scene of the incident, according to the Kern County coroner’s office.

A San Jose man who was driving a truck on eastbound Highway 58, east of Dennison Road in Tehachapi, left the road, his truck overturned and he died.

Robin Dale Wibeto, 70, died at the scene of the 11:28 a.m. Friday incident, according to the Kern County coroner’s office.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating.

The Kern County coroner’s office has identified a man who died in custody at the Lerdo Pre-Trial Facility at 17695 Industrial Farm Road.

Louie Grijalva III, 25, of Bakersfield was found unresponsive in his cell at 3:43 p.m. June 27, according to the coroner’s office, which noted an autopsy will be done to determine his cause and manner of death.

A Bakersfield man died at Kern Medical weeks after he was shot in the 300 block of Jeffrey Street in Bakersfield, the Kern County coroner’s office reported Monday.

Freddy Feliciano, 27, was shot at 2:41 a.m. May 17 and died just before 11 p.m. June 10, the coroner’s office reported. He died from multiple gunshot wounds and his death is a homicide.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

It’s not known when Jesse Sanchez, 27, of Bakersfield, died from the blunt injuries, according to the coroner’s office. The California Highway Patrol is investigating.

An 85-year-old woman who was a passenger in a vehicle died June 13 when the vehicle she was in collided with another vehicle on Highway 178, east of Rancheria Road, the coroner’s office reported Monday.

Elizabeth Dunn of Kernville died at 1:28 p.m. at the scene of the accident, the coroner’s office reported. The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
