It will be a magical day on Saturday at the Fox Theater with a showing of the Disney classic “Fantasia.”

Along with Mickey Mouse as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” the 1940 animated film features a celebration of sight and sound with the dancing fairies, fish, flowers, mushrooms and leaves of the “Nutcracker Suite”; the comic ballet of “Dance of the Hours,” starring hippos, elephants, alligators and ostriches; and the eerie “Night on Bald Mountain,” during which you’ll want to hold on to your seat when the malevolent Chernabog summons restless souls.

Guests of all ages are encouraged to wear their Mickey ears, tiaras and fanciful costumes for the screening. Those who dress up can even redeem a free small popcorn.

Preserve the moment with a caricatures by CB Caricatures, which will be on-site offering free drawings from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Settle in with $1 hot dogs and sodas and enjoy the film, which starts at noon Saturday at the theater, 2001 H St.
