Friends of the Library to hold book sales event

BY MARK FISHER Contributing writer Mark Fisher is a member of the Friends of the Library.

The Tehachapi Library is open from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. So if you come down to Farmer’s Market on Thursday, pop in to the Library and see what kind of deals are there for you, too, downstairs at the Friends of the Library Continuing

Book Sale. Books are classified into broad categories and set up on two walls downstairs. And the prices are cheap.

In addition, the Friends of the Library is going to have a Pop Up Clearance Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5. This sale is going to focus on special items and our antique and specialty books. All of these will be half price, so even better savings off the usual good deals. Then starting at 4 p.m. there will be a $3 a bag sale until the sale ends at 5:30 p.m.

The Friends of the Library has started to take book donations again. We’re now able to accept donations of books, when the

Library is open. It’s currently two boxes or bags of books a day. Don’t bring them all in at once; we don’t want to overwhelm our volunteers.

The Friends of the Library volunteers will be working before the library opens Wednesday through Friday. If you’d like to join in and volunteer to help, contact the

Friends of the Library at FOLTehachapi@gmail.com or 661-7502818. If you can’t do that, help support out Library by coming in and buying books at the Continuing Book Sale or come to the Pop Up Clearance Sale.
