Antoinette featured artist for May at Gallery ‘N’ Gifts

TEHACHAPI NEWS

Lori Antoinette will be the featured artist at Gallery ‘N’ Gifts, located at 100 W. Tehachapi Blvd., throughout May.

The public is invited to come view the fine art created by Antoinette.

“A graduate of fine art from the University of Maryland, College Park, I started out as an oil painter predominantly, later switching to acrylics. When I discovered chalk on the ground at the first Pasadena Chalk Festival in 1993, it was love at first chalk,” Antoinette said.

With a bachelor of art in abstract, but having a heart for portraiture, Antoinette said she has developed a sort of fusion of these. As a lover of the impressionist and pop movements, she likes to blend the various styles without thinking about blending the styles.

Said Antoinette, “Being a street chalk artist has definitely expanded my horizons and helped my development as well.”

Now, with almost 30 years of street painting experience, she travels quite a bit to other states as well as within California. She has sold commission work across the U.S. as well, and is currently working on getting wall mural commissions outside California.
